ASU Annual Board Dinner 2011The 2011 Annual Board Meeting was held at the University of Surrey, Guildford on the afternoon of 14th July followed by the annual dinner in the evening at the Olivo Ristorante Italiano in Guildford.

Simon is retiring from ASU as a change of job means a move away from atomic spectrometry. Simon joined in 1990 as a writer in the group, Clinical and Biological Materials, Foods and Beverages, producing a tabular version of the year's publications in foods and beverages. He was the first writer that actually worked in the foods industry. His ability to make a concise summary often with pertinent comments was much admired by his fellow team members.
